How you can help

We help people help themselves, but we can’t do it alone. Your help is critical.

There are lots of ways you can help.

We certainly appreciate donations

Everything we do costs money. We benefit from many grants that help underwrite the costs of our services, but it’s never enough. We rely on donations from all of you to keep us growing -- serving more families every year.

Money is always great, but we need other things, too. Here’s our current ‘Wish List.’

    - Gym scoreboard
    - Air conditioning for gym
    - Conference room furniture
    - Resurfacing of gym floor
    - Team T-shirts for teen center
    - Water Coolers
    - Student school supplies (i.e. folders, paper, pens)
    - Pool table for teen center

Help us Get the Word Out

You can invite us as speakers for your church, club, business, or agency. We can talk about Family Services or we can share information about some of the issues and challenges confronting our communities, like domestic violence and sexual assault. Or parenting adolescents. Building coalitions to combat social issues.

If you would like to arrange a speaker or workshop, Call or email Kristin Waller-Donovan at 845-452-1110, x 3133.

Volunteer Some Time

If you can make time to help us, we can find a way to put your talents to good use. Whether you are interested in a short term project or a long term commitment of a few hours a week or a month, there’s always something you can do.

Many of our volunteer positions require special training, like working on one of the hotlines or advocating for crime victims. We make sure you re well trained before you have that responsibility.

Sometimes we need clerical help filing and answering phones.

Often there are special events on the horizon. We can really use people who are well organized and enjoy fundraising.

Or you may have a special project you want to research for school, or an internship you’d like to spend with us.

We’d love to find a few good volunteers with expertise in grant writing, graphic arts, and marketing.

These are just a few of the volunteer opportunities available. If you’d like to explore volunteer opportunities with us, call Kristin Waller-Donovan at 452-1110, x 3122
