Family Services’ mission is to help families and individuals help themselves through direct services, collaboration and advocacy.
Our Vision
As the premier agency of choice, Family Services will assure that every family and individual in need can receive the services and support necessary to reach their maximum potential.

Family Services was the recipient of the Hudson Valley NASW Chapter 2010 Agency of the Year Award.

Over 7,500 youth, individuals and families were served.

Staff of the Crime Victims Assistance and Battered Women’s Services Programs fielded 12,642 hotline calls .

98% of teens served (169) in the Teen Parenting Program avoided out-of-home placement (foster care) of their child in 2010.

The Teen Resource Activity Center (TRAC) provided a safe haven for 68 City of Poughkeepsie youth in 2010.

Over 100 youth visited with their non-custodial parent at the Supervised Visitation Program.

In 2010, over 65 families received intensive home-based and group-based parent education services from staff in the Family Education Program in Ulster County.

90% of participants served (78) in the Domestic Abuse Awareness Classes for Men Program increased their understanding of the role belief systems play in domestic abuse.

Family Services employs over 100 staff, of whom approximately 15% are bilingual.

Over 100 volunteers dedicate over 10,000 hours of their time, effort and talents to Family Services’ programs annually.

Family Services spends over $500,000 annually with local vendors.

In 2010, Family Services assumed operation of the Family Partnership Center.

Family Services has a proven track record of implementing a community collaboration model that provides for more efficient and effective services through self-sustaining partnerships. Rather than compete with each other for limited resources, we have developed cooperative relationships among different providers, effectively strengthening each member. By mobilizing community resources, we have developed cost-effective initiatives that will improve direct services to those that we serve.
